We’ve got a small update here for the main chart, pertaining to our RAM and CPU recommendations.
The RAM 3600
For our 32GB and 64GB RAM options, if there are 3600MHz kits available for a price that is close to the 3200MHz kits, we are switching to 3600MHz.
You can find our reason for doing this in this Gamers Nexus article.
With 3600MHz ram being reasonably priced, it has becomes the next “sweet spot” for performance vs. price. If, in any given country’s version of the chart, we find that there is still a large price difference between 3200 and 3600 RAM, then we’ll stick with 3200 RAM. 3200 is still quite fast!
The CPU 3600
The Ryzen 5 3600 replaces the Ryzen 7 2700X in the Great tier of the chart.
Despite the fact that the R7 2700X has more cores, as well as the letter X (capitalised!) in its name, the R5 3600 is slightly better overall. They are now the same price, so any price advantage the 2700X may have had is no longer an issue. Therefore, we are adding the 3600 (with appropriate motherboards) to replace the 2700X.
